Our September & October Purchases

What do we actually buy? Of all of the recommendations and finds, we can’t possibly buy it all, although we do strive to only share items that we WOULD buy for our homes, or items that are specific reader requests. We typically share Instagram stories when we make a purchase, and we love hearing from those of you who make a purchase from our recommendations, too.

This is our second roundup of items we’ve bought for our own homes for September and October 2019. You can check out our August purchases here. We hope you enjoy!

Sidenote- one of us is knee deep in decorating a gender neutral nursery, so many of the items are for that space. You can definitely sense a theme with these past two month’s purchases!

Two Tier Flushmount- This purchase is for our guest bedroom - we haven’t installed it yet, but the price and look were just right. At well under $100, this will be a great, low budget upgrade for that room.

Floating Gold Frame- I purchased a 5x7 mini piece of art from Sarah Thorne Davis Art (she’s on Instagram), and wanted to show off the raw edges. I found this floating gold frame on Amazon and snagged it. It’s the perfect touch. There is a variety of sizes available. It’s the same brand as this acrylic tray that we love, and it matched my expectations.

Scallop Side Table- This was one of your favorite looks for less, too! It’s on pre-order now (releases 11/27), but I couldn’t resist this beside the glider that we purchased. I love the look of it and have seen the splurge in many high end designs lately. I think it’s the perfect mix of whimsy and practicality.

Spindle Crib- this is similar to a Pottery Barn favorite, and has great reviews. We also heard from many of you that you’ve loved it. We installed it without the casters and it was easy to assemble and looks great. We also love the wood and grey options if you are looking for something different.

Llama Basket- This was irresistible and budget friendly. I’m not sure what will actually be put in it… but it will be a little cutie in a corner until then.

Kendall Kirk Singleton Print- Framed in Marin Frame from Framebridge. Kendall was last month’s artist spotlight, so we stumbled across this print on her site. It is the perfect addition over a green lacquered bamboo chest, and the natural frame from Framebridge ties in with the other natural items in the nursery and pops on the creamy white walls. Also, this is the second time I’ve used Framebridge and could not be more pleased with the selection and ease of use.

Scallop Flushmount- another nursery addition. It’s installed and we are keeping it! We have 8’ ceilings so we like having a little style in something otherwise basic.

Quatrefoil Napkins- Sets of 4 of these were the perfect refresh. I selected blue but also love the red and orange for the fall and holiday months. The quality is good and the price can’t be beat.

Sisal Hall Runner (10’ long!) - we have a very long hallway where we just removed carpet (hooray!). But, we needed runners for noise and aesthetics. We love the look of vintage runners, but couldn’t find two that coordinated enough, and it runs into a foyer with a vintage rug that we love and won’t part with. We looked to our tried and true sisal rugs, and they came in long lengths. We ordered 2 and they are perfect. We used rug pads underneath as well. I’m not sure if I’m embarrassed or proud that I now have 4 sizes of this rug in my house. Sometimes you can’t get away from a good basic.

Large Oil Diffuser/ Humidifier - we originally bought this as a gift for a MIL, but decided to keep it for ourselves. This may be a bit outside our normal purchases, but so far we’ve really enjoyed it! And with the cooler, dryer months upon us, this large diffuser is perfect for a combination humidifier for a single room. The reviews rave about the capacity - you can use any type of oils as well, so the sky is limit for scents. We purchased this kit as a starting point.

We plan to keep updating you on our purchases each month, but don’t forget that you can always check out our curated list of previous purchases here!
